Educational Sign Language Interpreter Permit
All interpreters shall hold a permit to serve in a public school as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter.
An Applicant shall meet AT LEAST ONE the following requirements:
- Submit an Institutional Recommendation from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Be able to document national certification
- Have obtained a score of 3.5 or greater on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment(EIPA) in one of the following areas of sign language: American Sign Language (ASL), Manually-Coded English(MCE), or Pidgin Sign Language(PSE)
