In order to renew a substitute teacher permit, you must meet all renewal requirements and submit a Renewal Application to PTSB before the expiration of your current permit.
There are several options for earning renewal credits:

  • Complete course work at a regionally accredited college/university. You may take courses for either a grade or pass/fail
  • Attend PTSB approved workshops
  • Apply for Individual Professional Development credits

The alternative path is not available as an option for reinstating a lapsed substitute permit if the alternate path was previously used to obtain the initial substitute teacher permit.
