Applying for a Transitional Coaching Permit

In order to apply for a Transitional Coaching Permit, you must meet ALL of the requirements listed below for a Transitional Coaching Permit. (These requirements are in addition to all general application requirements). If you do not meet all the requirements, you are not eligible for a Transitional Coaching Permit.

An applicant who is granted a Transitional Coaching Permit will have three (3) years to complete ALL additional requirements if all requirements to obtain the Transitional Coaching Permit are met.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

On May 4, 2022, PTSB put new rules into effect. These rules state that transitional coaches must have Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries in order to obtain this permit. Because of this change, we understand that not all individuals will have the requirement met at the time of applying for the Transitional Coach Permit. Therefore, we are giving these coaches one (1) year to complete the Care and Prevention requirement. You must contact PTSB to update your Transitional Coaching Permit to a full three-year certificate once you have completed the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries requirement before your one-year certificate expires to avoid any lapse in certification, as this may affect your employment, and you may be required to be fingerprinted again for PTSB. Once you submit a certificate of completion to PTSB, we will issue another certificate showing the full three years for the Transitional Coach Permit. You will not be charged again.
