Official Transcripts and Electronic Transcripts
Official Hard Copy Transcripts
Applicants are required to submit official transcripts which verify completion of a teacher preparation program. You will need to request official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities where coursework was completed. As in the picture to the right, to be considered official the transcript should be on the institution’s official transcript stationery or have the official university seal embossed in the document.
Important considerations to note:
- Be sure to have the transcripts sent directly to you so they can be submitted as part of your completed application packet. Unfortunately, any transcripts that have been sent to PTSB separately will be returned to the applicant.
- It is not necessary to submit official transcripts in a separate, sealed envelope; however, they must contain the institution’s original seal in order to be considered “official.” Copies cannot be accepted.
- When requesting official transcripts, be sure to have the issuing institution list your degree area(s) on the transcript. Transcripts that do not list the applicant’s degree area(s) cannot be processed. Please be aware that this means that even if you are on the verge of completing your program and graduating, the college will not yet have your degree posted. In this scenario, you must wait until they have posted your degree and degree completion date before requesting your transcripts.
